LEE TAKES FIRST IN THE DESERT

Fullerton College placed 5th out of nine California community colleges scoring 702 (351-351) over the two-day Desert Invitational on August 27th and 28th.

The invitational took place at the Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert where the temperature topped 117 degrees Fahrenheit on the Monday before Labor Day.

Undaunted by the soaring heat, Fullerton College's defending CCCAA individual State Champion, Cathilyn Lee, staved off all challengers and placed 1st out of 50 golfers from the entire state of California shooting 147 (74,73), three over par for the two-day dance in the desert.

Defending team State Champions Modesto Junior College continued its dominance with an impressive 661 (328-333), six shots fewer than 2nd place Mount San Antonio's 667 (330-337). Reedley College finished in 3rd with 672 (335-337).

Up Next: The Hornets will play at Soboba (hosted by Mt. San Jacinto) on Wednesday, September 6th at 9:00 am.
