The Hornet women's lacrosse team hosted Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Sunday and lost a close 7-6 match to the Mustangs.
Fullerton took a 2-0 lead by the end of the first quarter on goals by McKennah Renfro. The Mustangs got on the board in the second quarter with two goals, but Renfro added two more goals of her own keeping Fullerton on top 4-2 by halftime.
In the third quarter, Cal Poly tied the game up 5-5 scoring three goals to FC one- a nice shot by Alyssa Agarie.
The Mustangs made their move in the fourth quarter ripping off two goals for a 7-6 lead. Unfortunately, the Hornets were not able to muster up a goal in final quarter as the victory slipped from their grasp.
Leading the way in scoring for FC was McKennah Renfro, who had 5 goals. Alyssa Agarie had a goal, and Izabelle Garcia had an assist.
Up Next: The Hornets (0-2 overall) will travel down the street to take on Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 pm.
