WINNING IN THE RAIN

Like the U.S. mail, the Hornets delivered under wet and windy weather conditions on Tuesday beating Irvine Valley College 5-0 at home.

Parts of Fullerton's field looked like the land of a thousand mini-lakes, but it did not stop the Hornets from winning by their largest margin of the season.

Auburn Burnett punched in the first goal in the 12th minute with the assist coming from Jayden Romo.

Ashley Bautista followed four minutes later with an unassisted goal.

With seconds left on the clock in the first half, Jayden Romo got in on the scoring action with an unassisted shot giving FC a 3-0 lead at the break.

Auburn Burnett struck again in the 51st minute kicking the ball into the right corner of the net.

As the game came to a close, Lizeth Garcia successfully rushed the IVC goalie for the last goal of the day.

Two goalies worked the shutout win for FC in Ashlyn Trujillo (4 saves) and Alyssa Sandoval (1 save).

Up Next: The Hornets (7-12 overall, 5-8 OEC) will try and make it three wins in a row when they wrap up the regular season at home against Santa Ana College this Thursday, November 10th. Match time is at 3:00 pm. Come on out and celebrate Sophomore Day and support the team.
