The FC women's volleyball squad played in the Eagle Invitational at LA Mission College on Wednesday falling to Santa Monica College 3-0 and beating Citrus 3-2.
In the first match of the day, FC took on Santa Monica College and lost 3-0 to the Corsairs 25-18, 25-10, 25-12.
Angie Alvarado and Sofia Chua both had 3 kills each. Kimmy Gonzalez had 5 digs while Emily Finnegan and Amelia Hahs both contributed 4 digs.
The Hornets earned their first win of the season against Citrus College 3-2. After dropping the first set in extras 26-24. Fullerton fought back in the second set to win it 23-25 and then took the third 26-28. The fourth set belonged to the Owls 25-23 in another hard-fought game. The fifth and final set again went down to the wire with the Hornets coming out on top 15-11.
Sofia Chua led the way with 16 kills, while Quinlan Vu hammered down 11. Angie Alvarado had 8 kills, Emily Finnegan chipped in with 7, and Mariah Williams had 6 kills. Amelia Hahs handed out a season-high 42 assists. Izzy Hernandez had 6 aces.
