A GREAT SEASON COMES TO AN END

The No. 1 in state FC women's water polo team ended its season with a 3rd place finish at the SoCal Regionals hosted by Long Beach City College. 

On Friday, the Hornets knocked off No. Riverside City College 7-5. Nikki Salerno and Adrianna Wong led the way with 2 goals apiece. 

On Saturday morning, the Hornets lost a tough one to No. 2 Santa Barbara City 11-6. The winner qualified for a slot at the state championship tournament. 

In the third-place game later in the day, Fullerton beat Long Beach City 15-6. Three players in Sophia Martinez, Adrianna Wong, and Amanda Ellerbroek scored 3 goals each. Jordyn Lughart and Nikki Salerno both tossed in 2 goals apiece. 

Orange Coast College took the top spot winning the SoCal Regionals after defeating SBCC in the title game 10-9. Representing the South in the State Tournament will be Orange Coast and Santa Barbara. For the North, it will be West Valley and San Joaquin Delta. 

It was another outstanding season for the Hornets who finished with an overall record of 29-5. Under head coach Gabriel Martinez, FC has had 14 twenty-win seasons.
