The Hornets did it again taking three out of four matches over the weekend at the San Joaquin Delta Tournament.

Winning three out of four has put the Hornets over the .500 mark with an overall record of 8-6.

After stunning No. 6 Sierra College the previous weekend at the Mt. SAC Tournament, the Wolverines had their revenge game on Friday defeating Fullerton in a 10-7 battle. The Hornets jumped on Sierra early grabbing a 7-4 lead by halftime, however Sierra took over in the second half holding FC scoreless. The goal leaders for Fullerton were Kayla Arias (2) and Alexandra Haluska (2).

In the second game of the tournament on Friday, FC got past a tough Modesto College squad 8-7. The first half was close with the Hornets taking a 4-3 edge, but the third quarter was all Modesto as the team scored 4 goals to FC's 2 taking a 7-6 lead. In the fourth quarter, Fullerton's defense locked it down keeping the Pirates scoreless, while Moncerath Maldonado tossed in the tying goal and Elyse Weske scored the game winner. The Hornet goal leaders were Alexandra Haluska (2) and Moncerath Maldonado (2).

On Saturday, FC played the tournament host in San Joaquin Delta and handed the Mustangs an 11-4 loss. Fullerton goal leaders were Kayla Arias (3), Alexandra Haluska (3), and Macayle Franco (2).

The fourth a final game against Fresno was a 19-4 win for the Hornets. FC jumped the Rams with a 6-1 lead in the first and ran away with the win. FC goal leaders were Macayle Franco (5), Kayla Arias (4), Alexandra Haluka (3), Moncerath Maldonado (2), and Kaylee Rojas (2).

Up Next: FC (8-6 overall, 1-1 OEC) will host No. 2 in the state Riverside City College this Wednesday, October 4th. Game time is at 4:00 pm.
