Bio

Sandra was hired as a full time co-head athletic trainer at Fullerton College in Spring of 2023. Sandra’s journey of becoming a Hornet began in the Spring of 2020 when she started as a part-time athletic trainer and eventually as an adjunct faculty member.

Prior to joining the Fullerton Hornets full-time, Sandra held several athletic training positions in various settings. Most recently, she was a co-head athletic trainer at Chaffey College primarily working with Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball. Other notable experiences include working as an athletic trainer at Mount San Antonio College, Victory Christian Academy, and Select Medical. Through her contract to a large theme park in Southern California, Sandra provided care and injury prevention to professional performing artists such as stunt performers, elite dancers, singers, actors, and performers. In addition to athletic training, Sandra holds her pilates certification which she utilizes for prevention and rehabilitation of injuries.

Sandra completed both her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Athletic Training in five years through Chapman University’s bridged program. Throughout her schooling, Sandra fell in love with getting involved in the profession of athletic training and held several leadership roles including Chapman University's own Athletic Training Student Society President, Vice Chair of Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association Student Leadership Committee, and Chair of the Annual Meeting Subcommittee. Since graduating, Sandra has also been a part of the California Athletic Trainers’ Association Legislative Action Team, fighting for the protection of both athletic trainers and safety regulations that would protect our athletic community.

Sandra also co-hosts, edits, and produces an international athletic training podcast called AT Corner with her husband, Randy, who is also a certified athletic trainer.
