BASEBALL: HORNETS SHUT OUT BY TIGERS

It was a pitcher's duel at Hornet field on Tuesday that saw the FC baseball squad lose 2-0 in a fast one that lasted two hours.

The Tigers got on the board first hanging two runs on FC in the fifth inning. Jack Bailey singled to the left side scoring Garrett McKee. Dean Miller then hit a shot to left center bringing in Bailey.

With two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the 9th, the Hornets had an opportunity to rip the win away, but it was not to be as RCC held their own on defense.

Fullerton was stymied by Riverside's starting pitcher Blake Tuthill (6-0), who threw a complete game. Displaying excellent command, Tuthill had 7 strikeouts with 4 hits against.

Hornet starter Garrett Molnar (1-3) may have been hit for the loss, but he tossed a solid game going 6 innings with, 4 hits against, 7 strikeouts, 1 walk, and 1 earned run. RP Jordan Wisner came in throwing 3 innings with no runs, 2 hits and 3 K's.

Up Next: The Hornets (11-9 overall, 1-3 OEC) will take on RCC again at their place this Thursday, March 16th at 2:00 pm for game two of the three-game series.
