BASEBALL: SUNDAY HORNET BASEBALL

The Hornets played a friendly non-conference make-up game against Palomar College on Sunday afternoon and lost 8-3 to the ninth-ranked Comets.

Fullerton is now riding a nine-game losing streak and now stands at 12-20 overall. The Palomar win adds to their eleven-game win streak giving them an overall record of 24-6.

The Hornets took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Andrew Aguilar hit a single to center field that brought Grant Woodward home from third base.

In the third FC added another run to go up 2-0 on a single by Aaron Lizarraga scoring Joey Parente.

In the fifth inning, the Hornets hit rough waters when Palomar scored five runs to take a 5-2 lead.

Fullerton's John Zanze came up to bat in the bottom of the sixth and hit a solo home run over the left field ivy.

The Comets went on to score three more runs in the seventh to take an 8-3 lead and held on for the remainder of the game.

Up Next: The Hornets (12-20, 2-13) will host Compton College this Tuesday, April 11th. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
