"The loss of Nick O'Loughlin has created a heartfelt pain for all that knew him. I was impressed with him the first day that we met. His sincerity and honesty stood out and the respect he learned from his parents was evident every day in his relationships with coaches, teammates and teachers at Fullerton. As a Hornet, Nick brought his work ethic to Hornet Field every day. He was a role model to his teammates and coaching staff and led his team with drive and determination to be successful. Nick was the recipient of the Ed Carroll Award, which is given each season to a student/athlete who represented his college with great efforts in the classroom as well as on the athletic field.
