On Thursday, the Hornets lost a tough one at home 3-2 to Cypress College on a ninth-inning home run.
The Hornets did not waste any time getting on the board in the top of the first when Marco Malerba knocked a single to left center scoring Jacob Sharp from second. Earlier, Sharp had doubled down the left line.
Cypress tied the game up 1-1 in the top of the fifth on Isaac Rodriguez's rip up the middle that brought Mario Tostado across home plate from second.
FC went up 2-1 in the sixth. Dominic Martinez stole third and then proceeded home on a Charger throwing error.
In the ninth inning the game soured for the Hornets as Cypress took the lead for good on a two-run blast over the right field ivy by Dean Toigo that brought in Michael Woodward from third.
FC starting pitcher tossed an 8-inning 4-hit gem allowing 1 earned run with a walk and 2 strikeouts.
