HORNETS TAKE GAME 1 OF THE SOCAL REGIONALS

In game one of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals on Friday, the No. 9 seeded Hornets hosted No. 16 Pasadena City College and brought down the Lancers 8-2.

FC's Britton Beeson made a statement in the opening inning crushing a two-run homer over the left field ivy that also brought in Ryan Kirk.

In the second inning Jacob Larson's triple to right field scored Andrew Pyle lifting Fullerton to a 3-0 advantage.

The Hornets added on three more runs in the third on Britton Beeson's single to left center plating Landon Runge, Rudy Gonzales reached on a Lancer error scoring Trevor Schmidt, and Diego Franco knocked in Beeson.

Fullerton kept the runs coming in the fourth on a solo shot by Ryan Kirk that salied over the left field ivy.

Up 7-0 heading into the fifth, Pasadena City got on the board thanks to a two-run home run by Tyler Garcia that also brought in Jaden Guzman. 

In the bottom of the seventh, Britton Beeson added another home run to the stat sheet that put FC up 8-2. The dingers were Beeson's 10th and 11th of the season. 

Hornet starting pitcher Matt Romero (5-2) was strong putting 7 innings of work with 3 hits against, 2 earned runs, had 1 walk, and 3 Ks. Reliever Jared Sawyer tossed an inning with a hit against, and Ari Kligman threw the final inning with no hits against, had no walks, and 2 Ks.

Up Next: The No. 6 Hornets (24-17 overall) will play game two of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals against No. 16 Pasadena City (23-17) on Saturday May 4th at 11:00 am. If a third game is needed, it will take place forty minutes after game two.
