COME FROM BEHIND VICTORY KEEPS THE HORNET SEASON ALIVE

COME FROM BEHIND VICTORY KEEPS THE HORNET SEASON ALIVE: Down 32-19 in the 4th quarter, FC put on their big boy pants and played their hearts out edging Palomar College 33-32 at home Saturday night.

With less than two minutes left in the game, RB Ryan Bird took the ball 48-yards from the FC 17 yardline setting up QB Connor Bednarski's screen pass to WR Eli Pleasant who took it the distance 35 yards to paydirt. PK Jesse Aguilar's successful extra point gave the Hornets the one point lead.

The Hornet Defense, led by LB Josh Sieler's constant pressure on Comet quarterback Tyer Bergman in the final drive, forced Palomar to go four and out with seconds left on the clock. After that, FC gladly took a knee along with the win as the final seconds ticked off of the scoreboard.

The Southern Conference win keeps Fullerton's football season alive at 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference-play. The loss for Palomar set them back at 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Byrd had a big game for the Hornets running the ball 17 times for 136 yards with 1 TD. Pleasant caught 6 passes for 104 yards and 2 TDs. RB Lavorrie "LV" Johsnon also ran the ball 14 times for 60 yards.

Up Next:  Fullerton travels down to Grossmont College for another conference match-up on Saturday, October 27th.  Game time is at 1:00 pm.
