KENTUCKY BOUND: Hornet defensive lineman Melvin Lewis commits to the University of Kentucky.

A late recruiting commitment, Lewis, who announced his pledge a day after he said he faxed a letter of intent to UK.

Standing at 6-4 and 320 pounds from Compton High, Lewis was a beast on the gridiron this past season for the Hornets accumulating 41 tackles with 3.5 sacks.

Lewis declined offers from Washington and Miami to play with the Wildcats.
