FOOTBALL HOY SCORES 6 TOUCHDOWNS IN KEY TO COUNTY GAME

In 1916 the Dons and Hornets played in their very first game that ended in a 0-0 tie... One hundred years later the Hornets beat the Dons 56-17 retaining the Key for the 10th consecutive time.

Fullerton freshman QB Jordan Hoy wowed the crowd at Santa Ana's Eddie West field scoring 6 touchdowns, a TD on the ground and 5 passing. He was named the game's Offensive MVP.

Hoy commanded the offense looking very comfortable running the Hornet offense scoring the season's first touchdown on a 9-yard scamper in the first quarter.

Santa Ana got on the board soon after on a 21-yard field goal by Jonah Mack.

FC answered back with a 35-yard strike from Hoy to Markus Grossman giving the Hornets a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.

The Dons scored their first touchdown of on a botched punt that soared over the head of punter Jonathan Aguilar who raced back grabbing the ball and had it knocked out of his hands at the Fullerton 3-yard line. Barry Ware scooped up the ball and ran it in for Santa Ana.

With the score 14-10 in the middle of the second quarter, Fullerton went on to score three TDs on two pass plays from Hoy (to Asante Wilder 44 yards and Justin Walker 17 yards) and a run fomentations (24 yards) to go up 35-17 at the half.

The second half was all Hornets as they went on to score two touchdowns in the air (26 yard pass from Hoy to Wilder - 26 yard pass from Hoy to Gerome Gross) and one on the ground (1-yard run by Anthony Wood).

FC had an even attack totaling 329 through the air and 275 on the ground, while the Hornet Defense played a stellar game holding the Dons to an offensive total of 151 yards passing and 53 yards rushing.
