FOOTBALL: MOURNING A HORNET

The Hornets are mourning the loss of football player Christian Yanos who passed last Thursday.

Yanos, a freshman offensive lineman from Sunny Hills High, played for the national champion Fullerton College football team this past season and recently received a scholarship from the University of Saint Mary in Kansas. While participating in drills with his new team on the first day of spring practice, Christian collapsed on the field.

"Players like Christian is why I coach. He was respectful, enthusiastic, and enjoyable to be around. He was a very important piece in the success of the Fullerton College Football Program and was a big part of our National Championship this year. Our program is grateful for the time that Christian spent here at Fullerton College, and we are deeply saddened over the loss of such a great young man. Our hearts and prayers are with his family. Christian will always be remembered by his Hornet family", Hornet Head Football Coach Tim Bynres.

Forever a champion, Christians Yanos' services will be held on Saturday, March 10th at the Granada Heights Friends Church (11818 La Mirada Blvd., La Mirada, CA 90638) at 10:00 am.
