ROLLING PAST SANTA ANA

The Hornets moved up a notch this week in the state rankings to No. 3 and kept their winning ways rolling at home Wednesday night with a 73-62 victory over Santa Ana.

Winning its 12th in a row, FC (19-3 overall) is making a strong push for another Orange Empire Conference title with a 10-0 record, which is currently three games ahead of second place Santiago Canyon (beat RCC tonight 71-65). Santa Ana falls to 9-12 overall and 3-6 in the OEC.

With the scored tied at 10 apiece after the first five minutes, Fullerton took off on a huge 22-6 run that put the Dons on notice. The Hornets cruised into the halftime break holding a 48-33 advantage.

FC went into the second half with a two-digit lead and finished the game in the same manner. The Hornets forced 16 turnovers scoring 14 points from them, while strong-arming the Dons under the basket with 40 points in the paint to SAC's 18.

Alex Archer came off the bench to lead the Hornets in scoring with 12 points and was a perfect 4 for 4 shooting. He also added 8 boards along with 2 assists. Christian Watson scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds, and 7 assists. Addy G'Bye put up 10, Amound Anderson II dropped in 9, and Shawn Woodson helped out with 8 points on the night.
