MEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS MAKE SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN

Sophomores Cesar Coronado and Ryu Ichihara were named to the Scholar All-America team by the United Soccer Coaches.

The criteria for the honor is that a student-athlete must be a sophomore playing in over 50% of the season and must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career. The nominee must also be an elite player as supported by playing honors (i.e., all-conference) or contributions to the success of his/her team. United Soccer Coaches Scholar Athletes of the Year for men and women are selected by a national selection committee from all levels of the Scholar All-America program.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. United Soccer Coaches works every day to inspire coaches and ignite their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the soccer community.
