HORNETS OVER HAWKS

Fullerton, the No. 1 team in the state, remains unbeaten after a solid 2-0 road-win at Santiago Canyon College on Tuesday.

It was a scoreless first half as both the Hawks and Hornets sized each other up with physical play and strong defense.

An offensive awakening for FC in the second half decided the match as Misael Gonzalez kicked in his conference-leading 13th and 14th goals of the season. Both unassisted shots were knocked in within minutes of each other (65th and 67th marks).

Fullerton goalie Jonathan Ortiz was very active with 6 saves for his 2nd shutout on the season.

Up Next: The Hornets (11-1-1 overall, 4-0-1 OEC) will host a night game on Sherbeck Field this Friday, October 13th when OEC and District rival Cypress College comes to town. Game time is at 6:00 pm. $8 Adults - $5 for 12 & under - Free with FC Student ID.
