Freshman Tommy Bui took 5th out of 20 competitors in the 200m, running 23.55 sec.

Freshmen Marquis Rogers and Raymond Gomez-Garcia opened the season in the 400m with times of 53.22 and 53.63 seconds respectively.

Freshman Ryan Lenning, throwing the Javelin for the very first time, placed third with a throw of 39.01m (128ft).
