MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: WALKER AWAKES

There were some very good individual performances from the Hornets in San Diego this weekend at the Arnie Robinson Invitational.

Justin Walker awoke from a season long slumber, winning the long jump in 24'4.5", just 3 inches from his personal best. Walker fouled a 25.5-foot jump by an inch on his last attempt. He then came back in the 110m HH, and in a very competitive field with club athletes took third in a personal best 14.07 seconds. This time currently places him #1 in the state for 110m HH.

Marquis Rogers, running in a 100m field of 30 runners, took 3rd overall in 11.04 seconds. Rogers continues to improve through the season, and has impressed his coaches with his attitude and work ethic.

In the throwing events, Francisco Padilla took 4th overall and 3rd among the community colleges out of a field of 20 throwers. Padilla threw 45'9". Padilla finished 5th in the hammer throw, hurling 135'7".

Josh Spillane was 6th overall and 3rd in the community college division in the discus, throwing 135'4".

Up Next: The Hornets will compete at Cerritos College for a big community college invitational this Friday, April 7th.
