MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: OEC PRELIMS
It was a good day for the Hornets in the Preliminary meet leading up to the OEC Finals this Friday, April 27th, at Riverside City College.
Makyi McIntyre ran very well to qualify in the 100m and 200m dashes. McIntyre ran 10.96 seconds in the 100m and 21.88 in the 200m. He has an excellent chance to advance to the Southern California Regional Meet in San Diego.
Teammate Jonathan Smith will be joining McIntyre in the 100m as he qualified in 11.17 seconds.
Freshman Andrew Fernando has qualified for the 1500m and the 5000m. Andrew is ranked 5th in the conference in the 1500m.
The Long Jump was a final event and Will McTeggart came through with an exciting 2nd place finish, performing a seasonal best of 6.60m, 21'8". Teammate Monty Dorsey finished 8th with a seasonal best of 19'11".
Friday's Conference Final is a qualifying meet to move on the SoCal Regional at San Diego Mesa College on May 5th.
