CROSS COUNTY: SOCAL QUALIFIERS / ALL-OEC
At the Orange Empire Conference Finals at Mission Viejo's Oso Viejo Park, the FC ladies team placed 4th out of 6 teams (93 points), while the men's team took 5th out of 6 teams (126 points). Both teams qualify for SoCal Regionals next week.
For the women's team, Maricuz Vargas led the away with a 7 place finish out of 48 runners (6:29.9). Cassidy Nyenhuis was 12th crossing the finish line at 6:44.7. Jessica Garcia finished at 7:09.2 at 25th place and Diana Valdovinos at 7:29.5 at 30th.
Rounding out the rest were Sydney Castaneda (7:32.0) Celine Tran (801.6), and Daniela Hernandez (8:13.7).
Brian Grande was the men's team leader with a 12th place finish out of 71 participants (5:31.7). Andrew Fernando finished at 5:45.8 for 29th place.
Others that ran were Hayden Ritchie (5:59.2), Ryan Sheatz (6:13.6), William Rodriguez (6:23.7), Erick Hernandez (6:32.3), Ian Sanders (6:52.5), and Mathew Worrall (7:10.3).
