SOFTBALL: BRIGID RUIZ CCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Former Hornet softballer Brigid Ruiz was a force during her two-years at Fullerton College (2014-2016), and now she's doing it again at Sonoma State being named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) Pitcher of the week for March 6-12.

Ruiz went 2-0 for the Seawolves as they took three-of-four from Cal State San Bernardino in last weekend's four-game series. In three appearances Ruiz allowed two earned runs on 12 hits in 13 total innings for a 1.08 ERA. She also totaled 7 strikeouts on the weekend.

Of the eleven games the Seawolves have played this year, Brigid has appeared in ten. She boasts a 2.71 era, and can also do work from the batter's box and outside the pitcher's circle, having also played third base this season.
