SOFTBALL: BIG ST. PATRICK’S DAY WIN – 17 ON THE 17TH

Fullerton collected their second consecutive conference win this week enforcing another mercy against Golden West College 17-0.

The keys to their success: The Hornet bats stayed hot and the defense remained error-free.

Once again, FC scored in every inning keeping the Rustlers winless at 0-17 overall and 0-9 in the Orange Empire Conference.

Fullerton scored three runs in the first inning, went on a tear in the second scoring seven runs, scored five runs in the third, and added two more runs in the fourth for good measure.

Hornet starter Isabella Aguilar (3-3) earned the win tossing 3 innings of one-hit softball. She walked none and had 1 strikeout. Kylie Patrick went two innings with no hits against and had 2 strikeouts.

As a team, FC had 17 hits with Jessica Piceno (2-2), Natasha Trujillo (2-2), and Adriana Ramirez (2-2) all having a multi-hit game. Eryka Springer, Trujillo, Anabel Mendez, and Ramirez all had 2 RBI on the big day.

Up Next: Fullerton (9-12 overall, 4-6 conference) will play a double header at home against Grossmont College this Saturday, March 18th. Game one is at 12:00 pm and game two is at 2:00 pm.
