SOFTBALL: HARD HOME LOSS

The FC softball had a hard time generating much offense as they lost a tough one at home Wednesday at the hands of Orange Coast 2-1.

It was a tough conference loss for FC (13-12, 6-7) as they are fighting for position in the Orange Empire Conference. OCC (13-15, 5-8) was a team that Fullerton had already gotten the best of this season, a 3-1 win back on March 7th.

The Pirates drew first blood scoring on a double to right field from Chole Visca that brought Danielle Votendahl home.

After a bit of a dry spell, Fullerton got on the board in the fifth tying the game up at 1 apiece when Tiffiny Centeno hit a sacrifice fly to center field giving Elexa Rangel the opportunity to cross home plate.

Orange Coast pulled off the win in the top of the seventh on an FC error that allowed Jessica Scotty to score the game's final run.

Fullerton pitcher Natasha Trujillo (12-8) tossed another strong game going 7 innings with 6 hits against, no earned runs, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout.

Up Next: Fullerton (13-12, 6-7) will try pick it back up when they play a double header this Saturday, March 31st against Bakersfield College (12:00 pm) and Citrus College (2:30 pm).
