SOFTBALL: FULLERTON WINS IN 8 INNINGS

On Monday, Fullerton's softball team won their 11th game in a row, on the road against Orange Empire Conference foe Orange Coast College 4-2 in eight innings.

Monday's game was a nail-biter as both teams were in a stalemate ending the seventh inning.

The Hornet's Kindy Favata got the first run of the game when she stole third and ended up going home on an errant throw by the OCC catcher.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Pirates answered with two runs giving them the lead.

In the top of the seventh, Sabrina Anguiano responded with a single to center field making it easy for Shelby Boehmer to cross home plate and tie the game.

As the game extended into the eighth inning, Fullerton did not have a problem going the distance against the Pirates. Tiffiny Centeno was the hero of the game, as her double to center brought two across giving Fullerton the lead.

FC pitcher Shelby Boehmer ended the game with a quick three and out.

Starting pitcher Natasha Trujillo pitched for 4.2 inning with 2 strikeouts and 2 runs against. Reliever Boehmer (5-2) grabbed her fifth win of the season going 3.1 innings with 3 strikeouts.

Up Next: Fullerton (24-15 overall, 12-8 OEC) will close the regular season this Wednesday, April 25th when they host district-rival Cypress College. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
