SOFTBALL: OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION

After beating Riverside City on the road 7-4 on Monday, the Hornet offense went off defeating Golden West at home 19-0.

Fullerton did not waste any time putting the scoreboard operator to work in the first inning scoring 12 runs. Sabrina Anguiano led the game off with a triple that sailed to right field. Veronica Garza came up next knocking a shot back to right field scoring Anguiano. Lulu Vasquez ripped the ball to the right side that brought Garza in. A couple of walks loaded the bases, and Anabel Mendez came up with one out hitting it to the left side scoring Vasquez.  Destiny Guzman blooped the ball to right field scoring Khloe Lilavois. Kindy Favata came up next clearing the bases for a 3-run shot scoring Guzman, Mendes and Sarah Rengifo. Garza came back up hitting a double to right scoring Anguiano and Favata. Rengifo then doubled to the right field line bringing home Vasquez and Williamson.

In the second inning FC did more damage scoring 7 more runs in the second inning. Garza singled through the left side scoring Guzman scored, Vasquez hit a shot through the left side bringing Anguiano home. Lilavois hit a single up the middle scoring Williamson and Garza. Rengifo ripped a double to right center scoring Vasquez, and Anabel Mendez cranked a double to right allowing Rengifo and Lilavois to cross home plate.

Up Next: The No. 5 in state Hornets (7-1 overall, 2-0 OEC) will get back on the road this Friday, March 1st for another OEC game against Santiago Canyon College. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
