Fullerton hosted Cypress College on Wednesday night, taking a rough 78-66 loss at the hands of the Chargers.
The loss knocks the Hornets to 8-9 overall and 1-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Cypress win lifts the team to 10-8 overall, and 3-1 in the OEC.
FC hung tough for the first two quarters matching the Chargers point for point (12 lead changes), but near the end of the second quarter Cypress began to separate (49-42), and Fullerton could not keep up. FC trailed for the rest of the game shooting 21.6% (6-23) from beyond the 3-point arc to Cypress' 39.1% (11-30). By the fourth quarter, the Chargers racked up a 21-point lead. Despite
Celise Moreno led the Hornets in scoring with 20 points, had 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Amanda Vasquez and Bri Landeros (12 rebounds) scored 9 points each, while Maddie Snyder (7 rebounds) and Jocelyn Rea (5 rebounds) both put up 8 points.
