OEC-OPENER TIE

OEC-OPENER TIE:  The FC women's soccer team played into a 2-2 tie at Irvine Valley College on Tuesday opening up Orange Empire Conference-play.

The Lasers drew first blood scoring early in the 8th minute of the match on a goal by Scarlett Acuna (assist Ruriko Yoshimura).

Down 1-0, Hornet sophomore Madisen Winder scored in the 33rd minute to tie it up.  Sophomore Jazmin Diaz chipped in with the assist.  In the 40th minute, FC scored again on a goal by Diaz with the assist by Winder.

IVC tied it up at 2 in the 87th minute on a goal by Yasmin Hart (assist Kelly Cox).

Hornet sophomore goalie Nadia Ruiz had 7 saves, 2 goals against in 90 minutes of play.

Up Next: The Hornets (1-3-1, 0-0-1) will host Golden West College on Friday, September 14th.  Game time is at 3:00 pm.
