WOMEN'S SOCCER: BIG PLAYOFF VICTORY FOR FC

The #14 Hornets played their first post-season game since 2004, and won their first post-season game ever at home Tuesday shutting out #19 Ventura College 3-0.

It was a big win for Fullerton, who will now advance from the play-in game to take on #3 Rio Hondo College this Saturday in the first round of the SoCal Regionals.

Freshman Brianna Remedios was responsible for all 3 of FC's goals landing her first hattrick of the season. Her first goal came in the first 38 seconds of the game off of a pass from Alyssa Madrigal. Ten minutes later Remedios took a pass from Brooke Morris and broke away for the second goal. Remedios kicked in her third goal in the 60th minute after taking the ball down the field with two defenders trailing her. She then knocked the ball into the back of the net from 20 feet out.

Defense was key for the Hornets as they kept a very good team scoreless. Goalie Savanah Dyer earned another shutout with 2 saves in 90 miniutes.

Up Next: Fullerton will play #3 Rio Hondo College this Saturday, November 18th at 7:00 pm.
