WOMEN' SOCCER: 4 GOALS, WINNING RESULT

The FC women's soccer team hosted Golden West College on Tuesday and knocked off the Rustlers 4-1 in an Orange Empire Conference match.

It was a good win for the Hornets (4-1-2 OEC) as they now sit all alone in second place in the conference standings with Santiago Canyon (4-2-1) falling at Saddleback College (3-1-3) 4-3 on Tuesday. Fullerton is just a game back from first-place Cypress College (5-0-2), who they tied with 1-1 in last Friday's match.

The Hornets got off on the right foot early on a shot by Regina Sanchez-Molina who headed the ball in off of a corner kick. The assist was credited to Kaelah Basurto. Sanchez-Molina's goal was her 8th in 13 games.

Morgan Dack gave FC a 2-0 lead at 20:52 when she headed the ball from the 6-yard mark. The assist came from Victoria Arrieta.

The Rustlers did not remain silent cutting the FC lead in half in the 36th minute on a shot by Ana Sophia Rodriguez.

Morgan Dack scored her second goal of the day (5th of the season) on a quick spinning shot from 4 feet out that got past the GWC goalie. Basutro had the assist.

Kaelah Basurto got in on the goal-scoring action in the 79th minute hitting on a pretty 18-yard shot that lasered into the back of the goal. Dack was in on the assist. Basuto's goal was her 10th (team leader) in 13 games played.

Up Next: The Hornets (9-2-2 overall, 4-1-2 conference) will hit the road this Friday, Oectober 25th for another conference game at Orange Coast College. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
