HORNETS LAND BIG WIN OVER WARRIORS

The FC women's soccer team welcomed El Camino College to campus on Friday and snatched their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors.

It was a non-conference game of "firsts" for both teams as Fullerton (1-3 overall) won it first game of the season, while El Camino (5-1) lost its first game of the season.

The Hornets attacked the Warriors early in this one landing a goal in the first 30-seconds as Sheccid Carrillo dribbled down the line for the unassisted shot.

FC went up 2-0 in the 17th minute when Yvonne Ventura took the cross-pass from Sheccid Carrillo and kicked the ball into the back of the net stunning the Warriors.

Fullerton's defense was on point holding El Camino to one goal on the day. In the 50th minute, Allison Sibley knocked in a shot on a penalty kick.

Hornet goalie Nyla Contreras had a very active day with 11 saves in 90 minutes of play.

Up Next: The Hornets (1-3 overall) will play at Long Beach City College for another non-conference match next Friday, September 22nd at 4:00 pm.
