WOMEN'S TENNIS: EPIC BATTLE ON SOPHOMORE DAY
The Hornets and Tigers mixed it up at Fullerton's tennis facility on Thursday for an Orange Empire Conference showdown with Riverside winning it in a very tight contest 5-4.
In doubles, the FC team of Kalie Laubie and Alexandra Altamirano won their match 8-4.
It all came down to the singles for the Hornets with Kalie Laubie winning 6-4, 6-4, Alexandra Altamirano winning 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-4, and Lael Cardinal winning 6-2, 6-3. Mayumi Okubo put up a valiant fight against RCC's Nani Nguyen before falling 5-7, 7-6 (1), 6-1.
It was the final home match of the season for the Hornets and two sophomores, Alexandra Altamirano and Kalie Laubie, were honored by the coaching staff for their heart and dedication to the team.
Up Next: Fullerton (4-11 overall and 0-8 conference) will play at Saddleback College on Tuesday, April 4th at 2:00 pm.
