WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: CASE & SCHAEFER SIGN!
Hornet captains Kailyn Case and Lauren Schaefer will both be moving on after signing with four-year colleges.
Voted to the All-Orange Empire Conference twice, Kailyn Case will be studying and playing at Concordia University. In 2018, Case was third in conference in assists per set at 8.81. She totaled 714 assists, 95 kills, 161 digs, and 34 aces.
A starter for the past two seasons, Lauren Schaefer signed with Menlo University. This past season, Schaefer helped the Hornets with 100 kills, 131 digs, and 18 aces.
Both players were big contributors to the Hornets making the playoffs this past season. Fullerton had not made an appearance since 2015.
"At the beginning of season we as a program had two goals, one being that we make playoffs and go to state, the second was getting our sophomores signed. We made it clear that they are the drivers in this process and we will help them every step of the way. I can't tell you how excited I am for both of these girls and the work they put in day and day out. They are so deserving of this opportunity and we as a coaching staff look forward to watching their volleyball career continue and flourish. I could not be more proud of Kailyn and the opportunity she will get next season. KK will be an impact player for every team she plays on with her passion, hard work, and dedication to the sport. She will be missed in the gym and at Fullerton College, as she is someone who lights up every room. KK is a competitor who will outwork, out hustle, and not stop until the job is done. She was a captain for us this season and we know she will continue leading next season as that is her nature. We will miss you and all of your quirky jokes KK, good thing Concordia is close so we can still watch you do what you love most. Lo is one of those athletes you know will succeed both on and off the court. She is a leader and will not let anything get in the way of her goals and dreams. Menlo is lucky to have someone who is so dedicated to the sport, dedicated to working hard, and dedicated to her teammates.
