Bio

Juan Cuevas has been the Co-Head Athletic Trainer at Fullerton College April 2006. He is a former Fullerton College Athletic Training Student under HOF members Bill Chambers, Lisa Nelson and David Chaffin. 

Cuevas earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology - Emphasis in Athletic Training from CSUF in 2000 and has been a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer for 25 years.

Juan is an active member and previous Scholarship Committee Chair for the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association (FWATA), he’s also active in the California Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA) and the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association (3CATA) running its social media pages.

Cuevas' body of work includes an internship with the St Louis Rams in 1999, Assistant Athletic Trainer at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, 2003 World Gymnastics Championships, physical therapy aide at ProSport Physical Therapy and Director of Student Health Services/Head Athletic Trainer at JSerra Catholic High School.

Cuevas became an Athletic Training Program Preceptor in 2004 and currently serves as Preceptor for the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Programs for California State University, Fullerton and Cal Baptist University.

During his time at Fullerton College, Juan's accomplishments include Clinical Instructors/Preceptor of the year, Inaugural FWATA Life Saver Award,  NOCCCD Classified Professional of the year, CCCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year and most recently, the 3CATA Special Service Award.

Having a strong passion for Sports Medicine, Cuevas loves educating new and eager Athletic Training Students while providing real life hands-on experience. He thrives in seeing his students succeed as they complete their MSAT education, and he loves knowing that the experience the students receive at Fullerton College provides a solid foundation for success as Certified professionals.

Cuevas resides in La Habra with the love of his life Roxie of 22 years, along with their four children and their two dogs.
