BASEBALL: TWO MORE HORNETS SIGN

Catcher Oliver Jackson and 1B Garret Valdez will move on to four-year colleges after two successful seasons at Fullerton College.

Oliver Jackson has accepted a scholarship from Georgetown College in Kentucky.  A two-year starter and team captain for the Hornets, Jackson batted .283, with 18 runs, 10 RBI, and threw out 13 base runners during the 2014 season. In 2013, he again batted .283 with 12 runs, 18 RBI, and threw out 5 base runners.

Garrett Valdez agreed to a scholarship with Lindenwood University-Belleville in Illinois. Valdez hit .312 with 7 runs 5 RBI, with 80 put outs in 2014. In 2013, he batted .250 with 1 run and a RBI with 13 put outs.

"Oliver and Garrett were team leaders for us this past season and were positive influences in the locker room. I'm sure they will bring those great qualities to their new schools", Hornet Head Coach Nick Fuscardo.
