BASEBALL: HORNET TO THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE

Sophomore third baseman Trent Hammond has accepted a scholarship from the University of Illinois.

Hammond led the 2015 Hornets in doubles with 9 overall. He batted .267 with 18 runs, 18 RBI, and had 40 hits with 2 stolen bases.

"I am very happy that our guys are going out to major universities in America and will represent the Hornets in a positive way. Trent is a heck of an athlete and I'm sure that he will make a positive impact on the Fighting Illini, Head Coach Nick Fuscardo.
