BASEBALL: HORNETS DANGLE IN THE WIND

The FC baseball team took the loss on a windy Tuesday falling to Moorpark College 8-6 at home.

The loss gives FC an overall record of 16-3 overall, while the win boosts Moorpark to 8-11 on the season.

The Raiders got on the board first in the first on a Hornet error scoring leadoff batter Jesse Aucelluzzo for the game's first run. With the bases loaded, three more were allowed to score on a hit by pitch, a walk, and a hit. By the end of the inning, Fullerton had spotted the Raiders 4-0 lead.

In the second, Moorpark added to their lead with a solo jack by Dalton Duarte to go up 5-0.

With the bases loaded, FC earned their first run on a fielder's choice by Kevin Foley scoring Shane Carrier. Then, Austin Case hit a base-clearing triple scoring Foley and Garrett Baseheart. By the end of the second inning, FC trailed 5-3.

The Raiders added another run in the third on a triple by Kai Gomez scoring Daniel Cipriano, and added another in the fourth on a SAC fly to center field by Cipriano bringing in Riley Conan. The Raiders led 7-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth.

In the eighth, the Hornets made things interesting with a two-run shot by Carrier over the left center ivy scoring Austin O'Banion.

Down 8-6, the Hornets fell short of a comeback as the Raiders shut the door with closer John Cashman.

Up Next: The Hornets (16-3, 6-0) will play at Compton College on Wednesday, March 23rd at 2:00 pm.
