BASEBALL: PARENTE & MIRANDA GO YARD AT ALL-STAR GAME

BASEBALL: PARENTE & MIRANDA GO YARD AT ALL-STAR GAME

Two Hornets, Joey Parente and David Miranda, shook up the California Collegiate League's All-Star game on Wednesday night hitting home runs to win the game 8-4.

Both athletes played for the Fullerton College baseball team this past spring and are now spending the summer playing for the Orange County Riptide in the California Collegiate League.

Played at the MLB Academy in Compton, California, the game between the South All-Stars and the North featured some of the best talent in baseball, where a majority of the players will play at four-year colleges in the fall.

Attending Lewis & Clark State College in the fall, Parente hit a solo shot in the seventh inning putting the South All-Stars up 5-4 and they never looked back.

Miranda, who will be attending Florida Atlantic, hit a two-run homer and was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
