ALL-OEC TEAM ANNOUNCED - TREVOR SCHMIDT CO-MVP

Five Hornet baseballers earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors with Trevor Schmidt getting the nod for Co-MVP.

For the second consecutive year, the Hornets have landed the OEC Co-MVP. Last season, freshman outfielder Britton Beeson tore the cover off the ball breaking the school record with 66 RBI earning the 2023 Co-MVP award. This season another freshman earned the MVP award in first baseman Trevor Schmidt. Schmidt leads the OEC in RBI with 60 and still has a chance to break Beeson's RBI record during the Southern California Regional playoffs this weekend. Beeson now owns the career RBI record with 114. Schmidt leads the Hornets in batting with a .342 average, has 55 hits, 42 runs, 14 doubles, and 12 home runs.

Earning 1st Team All-OEC honors is relief pitcher Ethan Moran, who has a 3.55 ERA with 22 walks, and 31 Ks. In 45.2 innings thrown, Moran is 3-3 on the season with a save to his credit.

Starting pitcher Matt Romero was a 2nd Team selection going 50.2 innings with a 4.62 ERA winning 4 games and losing 2. Romero has 15 walks and 36 Ks so far this season.

Ryan Franson earned 2nd Team All-OEC honors for grabbing an OEC leading 6 saves this season. In 34.1 innings pitched, Ryan has a 1.83 ERA, with 10 walks, and 31 Ks.

Sophomore outfielder Rudy Gonzales made his mark on the OEC 2nd Team batting .318 with 34 hits, 8 doubles, 3 home runs, has 21 runs, and 25 RBI.

Up Next - The 3C2A SoCal Regionals: The No. 9 seed Hornets (23-17 overall) will host No. 16 Pasadena City College (23-16 overall) for a best-of-three series beginning this Friday, May 3rd at 2:00 pm.
