A CHAMP THROUGH AND THROUGH

A CHAMP THROUGH AND THROUGH

Former Hornet football player Dave Martinez gives a very interesting interview about his life in La Habra, FJC, Vietnam, and the La Habra Boxing Club.

Martinez played on the 1965 National Championship team for Fullerton College beating Henderson, Texas 20-15 in the Junior Rose Bowl game. Soon after, Dave signed up to fight in Vietnam working as a medic where he was awarded the Silver Star Medal. Martinez came back to North Orange County working as a social worker, and then co-founded the La Habra Boxing Club that produced three No. 1 contenders in three different weight classes. The lifelong La Habra native was also a well-respected cut-man in the professional ranks.
