MEN'S BASKETBALL: HORNETS VISIT THE LA LAKERS

The Fullerton College men's basketball team spent the day at the Los Angeles Laker practice facility on Monday learning a few things from the pros.

No, the Hornets did not play or practice with the Lakers, but they did spend the day learning from some of the game's best teachers.

Laker head coach Byron Scott and staff personally welcomed Fullerton giving tips and insight into the game of basketball.

It has not been the greatest start to the season for the Hornets so Coach Andre Smith called his old friend Byron Scott to help spin the team in the right direction.

Coach Scott can also relate, as the Lakers have had their tough times this season as well, but that is the nature of sports. It is cyclical. Everybody has to start from somewhere to rise to the top, and the LA organization is the cream that will always rise up.

Former player and Laker assistant coach Mark Madsen took the time to work with the team forwards and centers.

The Hornets had a busy day meeting Laker players, coaches along with legendary sports broadcaster Jim Hill.

"I couldn't ask for a better practice day as it was a great day of learning for our team. Coach Scott and the entire Laker organization are a class act", Coach Smith.

Up Next: The Hornets will play at Santa Ana College this Wednesday (7:00 pm) and then host Saddleback College this Friday (7:00 pm).
