MEN’S BASKETBALL: HORNETS MAKE ALL-OEC

Three Hornets were selected to the All-Orange Empire Conference team in Jason Richardson, Khalil Stevenson, and Ronne Readus

Sophomore guard Jason Richardson was a hands-down unanimous selection to the first team All-OEC squad. Richardson averaged 18.4 points a game (3rd in the OEC), 4.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds. His game-high for the season was 34 points against Mount San Jacinto College back on November 10th.

Khalil Stevenson and Ronne Readus were All-OEC 2nd team selections. Stevenson averaged 10.1 points per game. His game-high for the Hornets this season was 19 points against San Bernardino Valley College on December 7th. Readus averaged 9.4 points and led the team in rebounds at 6.8 rebounds per game.

The Hornets just missed at a chance for their second consecutive OEC title losing to Orange Coast College in the championship game 83-74 overtime. The last time OCC won a conference title was back in 1979.

Up Next: Fullerton, the #7 seed, will play in the second round of the SoCal Regional Playoffs this Friday, February 23rd when they host #10 Allen Hancock College.  Tip off is at 7:00 pm. IT'S A WHITE-OUT so wear your white to support your Hornets!
