MEN'S BASKETBALL: MORE CHAMPIONS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Fresh off their state championship title win, sophomore guards Jailen Moore and Ezekiel Alley made it official on Thursday afternoon signing full-ride scholarships to St. Cloud State and Northwest Nazarene.

A first team All-Orange Empire Conference selection, Jailen Moore led the Hornets in three-point shooting this past season averaging 3.1/7.1 over 33 games played. He was third in the conference hitting 43.3% of his three-pointers. Overall, Jailen scored 376 points, had 36 assists, 23 steals, and was 83.7% from the free throw line. A clutch shooter who can create shots on the fly, St. Cloud is getting a true scorer in Moore for their lineup.

"Jailen transferred to us with the goal of winning and becoming a better player. He did both of those things as a high level. He brought it every day in practice with great work ethic and attitude. His three-point shooting was an absolute game changer for us this year. Jailen always stepped up in the biggest moments. I'm thrilled for Jailen and his family on this signing with an elite Division II institution in St. Cloud State", Hornet Head Coach Perry Webster.

Before sustaining an injury in mid-January Ezekiel Alley was leading the state in assists with 93 (5.8 per game). He scored 199 points, with 23 steals, and had 55 rebounds. A true floor general with vision and speed, the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks are getting a basketball gem.

"Zeke transferred in last summer from a national junior college, and I think the accountability here at Fullerton was a little bit of a shock to him. Credit to Zeke as he adjusted well and had a great first half of the season for us. Without Zeke's performances early in the season, our team wouldn't have had the run at the state championship. His toughness and resolve have served him well and will continue to serve him well at Northwest Nazarene", said Webster.

Other players to sign from the 2018-19 State Championship team are Rodrick McCobb (Northern Colorado), Ronne Readus (Cal State Bakersfield), and Lance Coleman II (Cal State Northridge). Stay tuned as more Hornets will be signing soon.
