MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: WORD TAKES 1ST IN DISCUSS
Fullerton College Hornet Men kicked of the 2015 Track and Field season hosting Orange Coast College and Santiago College.
While most of the men used it as a workout, and an introduction to college track. Braxton Word used it as a chance to notch up his first colligate win in the discus and a pair of strong 2nd place finishes in the Javelin and Shot Put. Word is a cross-over athlete that competed for the Football team in the Fall and has find his place on the track team in the Spring.
Other outstanding performer in the field events was Zedric McGee's 2nd and 7th place in the High Jump and Long Jump respectively.
On the track Brendan Bartunek had a strong showing in the 400 meters placing 3rd and 8th in the 200meters. Distance runner Brandon Velasco opened his season with a solid performance as he placed second in the 3000 meters behind a very strong OCC Runner.
