MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: QUALIFYING FOR OEC

Fullerton traveled up to Antelope Valley College and came back to the FC campus with a few more automatic Orange Empire Conference qualifiers along with a bevy Personal Records (PR's).

Braxton Word and Cameron Burks both made it official qualifying in each and every event they have participated in this year. Word stepped into the shot put ring only needing a throw of 10.61m to qualify for the OEC Championship throwing a PR of 12.12.

Burks on the other hand, had already qualified for the long jump a few weeks ago, this week, he triple jumped 12.45m and high jump 1.75 to qualify for those to events making it a trifecta in the jumps when it comes to competing at the Orange Empire Conference.

Also making the marks in the jumps this week was Zed McGee. While his jump of 11.47, squeaked by the OEC qualifier by .07, his high jump was the 2nd best jump of the day with a strong 1.85m.

Carlos Luna, in the shot put, had a toss of 11.12. Matt Donaldson celebrating his birthday on Friday, made it a great day, by competing in his first college track meet and qualifying for the OEC in the 110 high hurdles.

While the 42 inch hurdles, gave him a little trouble in the middle of the race, he was able to hold on and finish in 18.94 to qualify him for the OEC championship.

The following athletes won their heats during the invitational: Brendan Bartunek 100m 11.68 and Adrian Williams 400m 53.89 (although he split 48.50 later in the day, 4x400m).
