MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: GETTING STRONGER

The Hornets took on Orange Coast and Saddleback last Friday in an Orange Empire Conference meet.

Slowly but surely, the track team at Fullerton is improving week to week as they get going early in the season.

Freshman Justin Walker won the long jump and 110m HH. Walker jumped 6.84m (22'5") and ran 14.97 sec in the hurdles.

Freshman Delynn Holland was 2nd in the long jump at 6.48m (21'2.5").

In his first meet, freshman Najee Morrison won the high jump at 1.75m. He managed only one jump due to a leg strain.

In the throwing events, Sophomore Braxton Word was second in the discus at 39.78m (130ft 6in) and freshman Francisco Padilla was 3rd in the shot put, throwing 12.10m (39ft 8in).

Making his season debut, sophomore Pablo Perez was 3rd in a tight 1500m race. The winning time was 4:11.77 and Perez was 3rd at 4:12.23.

Final team scores: Saddleback 96, Fullerton 48 and Orange Coast 92.66, Fullerton 52.33.

Up Next: The Hornets have a bye this week but will compete at Cal State L.A. on March 4-5th.
