MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: HORNETS HANDLE THE HEAT

It was a hot day in Lancaster as the Hornets went up to the high desert to compete at the Antelope Valley College Invitational.

Freshman Justin Walker continued his winning ways taking the 110HH in 14.79 seconds and the Long Jump with a leap of 6.86 meters (22' 6"). Running his first 400m of the season on the 4 x 400 relay, he clocked an impressive 50.1 seconds, which was a great effort all the way around.

Delynn Holland took 9th overall in the Long Jump out of a field of 30 competitors, jumping 6.08 meters (19' 11").

Braxton Word had a great day in the Discus, throwing 42.12 meters (138' 2"). Word took 2nd place in a field of 27 throwers. Francisco Padilla was 10th with a throw of 38.48 meters (126' 3").

Up Next: The Hornets have an OEC conference meet at Santa Ana with Saddleback and Golden West Colleges also competing.
