The FC men's volleyball team played Santiago Canyon College twice last week and managed to take both matches 3-0 and 3-2.
On Wednesday, Fullerton hosted SCC and swept past the Hawks in three straight (21-25, 20-25, 19-25). Leonardo Mazuco led the way for FC with 12 kills, while David Lucio followed with 8 kills and 10 digs. Evan Shank delivered 30 assists and had 4 aces.
On Friday at Santiago Canyon, the Hawks gave the Hornets a run for their money in every game, but Fullerton squeezed out a 3-2 victory (26-24, 22-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-11). Leonardo Mazuco had a busy night hammering down 25 kills, had 13 digs, and 2 block assists. David Lucio also came up big with 21 kills, 8 digs, 2 solo blocks, and 3 block assists. Evan Shank fed the team 51 assists, had 2 aces, and 4 digs.
Up Next: The Hornets (2-2 overall) will host a make-up match tonight against Irvine Valley College at 5:00 pm. Sorry, but no spectators will be allowed on campus.
